The PX-S7000 is extremely well appointed from a sound perspective, equally at home as an acoustic piano replacement with rich, complex concert grand piano tones (the Berlin, Hamburg and New York from their GP series), while at the same time possessing a full arsenal of 400 total onboard tones including studio-quality electric pianos, synths and many more.

The sound engine powering everything is Casio’s award-winning Multi-Dimensional AiR Sound Source, which is built around carefully recorded samples of acoustic grand pianos, combined with resonance modelling courtesy of the Acoustic Simulator which recreates acoustic phenomena such as String Resonance, Damper Resonance, Open String Resonance, Aliquot Resonance and more (all of which are editable.)

The AiR engine is then delivered through Casio’s new Spatial Sound System which uses 4 independently driven full-range speakers with 32 watts of power, which in turn are housed within a rigid support structure of wood and resin specifically engineered for projection. Side Duffers are also equipped which helps spread the sound through a wider area.

A Surround Sound feature, Hall Simulators, Reverbs and a host of other effects offer the user a wide degree of control over the sound, and the new Piano Position allows you to optimize the sound according to how and where the piano is positioned with the touch of a button.

Powerful real-time controls such as assignable knobs and a pitch bend wheel speak to the PX-S7000’s readiness for performance situations on the stage or in the studio.

Connectivity:

The PX-S7000 has the connectivity options one would expect from a piano-focused stage instrument. Discrete ¼” line outputs (L/MONO, R) ensure you won’t have to fumble with adapters when you need more juice, and USB Type A and B give you what you need to use the PX-S7000 as a controller part of a larger rig.

There’s also a microphone input with its own volume knob, so performers who sing and play will find this very intriguing.

There’s of course also a connector for the triple pedal unit, and you have the option of swapping the floating SP34 here instead. Another pedal input for an expression pedal, as well as dual headphone jacks, can be found here as well.

Casio also includes the WU-BT10 at no extra charge and this gives the PX-S7000 Bluetooth MIDI and Audio connectivity. This allows you to stream music directly through the S7000’s premium speakers and access apps like Casio’s new Music Space app.
